Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Mechanic to join their reputable service centre in Reading . This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and repair procedures across a wide range of makes and models. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to handle complex repairs, mentor junior technicians, and uphold the highest standards of quality and customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
• Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and other vehicle components.
• Conduct routine maintenance services, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize diagnostic software and specialized tools to troubleshoot and resolve vehicle issues.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
• Provide clear and concise explanations of repairs and maintenance to customers.
• Guide and train apprentice and junior mechanics, fostering their development.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a proven ability to handle complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Relevant automotive certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Strong proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership potential.
• A valid UK driving license is essential.
