About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their dedicated team in Manchester . This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of quality across all vehicle components and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing quality management systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to minimize defects and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quality assurance methodologies within the automotive sector and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a key position supporting the consistent delivery of high-quality vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the automotive quality management system (e.g., IATF 16949).
- Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze quality data, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving activities using tools like 8D, FMEA, and SPC.
- Monitor production processes, ensuring adherence to quality specifications and manufacturing tolerances.
- Act as the primary quality contact for specific suppliers or product lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the automotive industry .
- In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as IATF 16949 and relevant automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Proven experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
