About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their operations team based in Manchester . This role is essential for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations across various projects within the energy industry . You will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing drilling programs, managing drilling risks, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. This is a challenging and rewarding position for a seasoned professional looking to contribute to complex drilling campaigns and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive drilling plans and programs, including well design, casing programs, and cementing strategies.
Manage drilling operations on-site and remotely, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational objectives.
Perform daily drilling performance analysis, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
Oversee the selection and management of drilling service providers and equipment.
Conduct post-drilling reviews and implement lessons learned to enhance future operations.
Ensure all drilling activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer , with a significant portion in operations.
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience with complex drilling challenges, including deepwater, high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT), or unconventional wells.
Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
