About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join their expanding Computational Biology team in Liverpool . This role is essential for leveraging large-scale biological datasets to uncover novel insights into disease mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic targets. You will be responsible for developing and applying advanced computational methods and pipelines to analyze complex genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of diverse biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Analyze and interpret complex data from high-throughput experiments, identifying significant biological patterns and trends.
- Collaborate with experimental scientists to integrate computational findings with biological hypotheses and experimental design.
- Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to predict biological outcomes and identify potential drug targets.
- Visualize and communicate complex computational results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in analyzing large-scale biological datasets using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and bioinformatics tools.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience with cloud computing environments and high-performance computing clusters is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
