Senior Category Manager - FMCG (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly strategic and analytical Senior Category Manager to join their progressive FMCG team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for driving category growth, developing effective retail strategies, and maximizing profitability for a designated set of product lines. This role requires a deep understanding of the FMCG market, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive sales growth.
• Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify key performance drivers and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with retail partners to develop joint business plans, promotional programs, and optimal shelf-space strategies.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure the effective sourcing of products within the category.
• Develop and present business reviews to senior management, highlighting category performance and future plans.
• Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to expand the category's reach and market share.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in category management or a similar commercial role within the FMCG industry.
• Proven ability to develop and execute successful category strategies, leading to demonstrable sales and profit growth.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of building effective partnerships.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in using data analysis tools and presenting complex information clearly.
• Comfortable and effective working independently in a remote setting, with excellent virtual communication skills.
