Senior Concept Artist

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished company within the Arts & Entertainment landscape, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Concept Artist to join their remote team. You will be instrumental in visualizing and developing the core aesthetic for new projects, translating creative ideas into compelling visual concepts. This role requires a deep understanding of visual storytelling, world-building, and character design, contributing significantly to the initial creative stages of development. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with game designers, art directors, and other artists to shape the look and feel of immersive experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed and imaginative concept art for characters, environments, props, and vehicles, defining the visual style of projects.
• Collaborate effectively with art directors and design teams to iterate on visual ideas and establish project aesthetics.
• Develop detailed visual development documentation, including sketches, mood boards, and color palettes.
• Research and gather visual references to inform and inspire concept designs.
• Present concept art to the team, articulating the design choices and creative intent clearly.
• Mentor and guide junior concept artists, sharing expertise and best practices in the field.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience as a Concept Artist, with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic skill in the Arts & Entertainment sector.
• Proficiency in digital painting software such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and light.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and visualization skills, able to translate abstract ideas into concrete imagery.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., ZBrush, Blender) for concept development is a plus.
