Senior Data Scientist - R&D Analytics

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from diverse scientific datasets.
• Design and conduct statistical analyses to support research and development projects, including predictive modeling and hypothesis testing.
• Collaborate closely with research scientists, chemists, and biologists to understand their data challenges and provide analytical solutions.
• Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, accessibility, and utilization across R&D functions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in the context of R&D.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on applying statistical and machine learning methods to scientific problems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong experience with SQL and database management, as well as working with large datasets.
• Excellent data visualization and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly.
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D environment is highly desirable in Reading .
