About the Role
Our client, a prominent organisation within the energy sector , is seeking a seasoned Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations in the Plymouth region. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and effective execution of drilling campaigns, adhering to the highest industry standards and company policies. You will lead on-site teams, manage drilling contractors, and make real-time decisions to mitigate risks and optimise performance. This is an opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of challenging drilling projects within the UK's offshore and onshore energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all drilling and workover operations, ensuring compliance with approved programs and HSE regulations.
- Manage and coordinate drilling crews, service companies, and equipment on the rig site.
- Monitor drilling parameters, identify potential hazards, and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of drilling operations, including daily drilling reports and end-of-well reports.
- Conduct pre-spud meetings and daily operational meetings to ensure clear communication and planning.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel adhere to safety procedures within the energy industry .
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Drilling Supervisor or similar role, with a strong safety record.
- Proven ability to manage complex drilling operations, including deep water or challenging geological conditions.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, procedures, and relevant industry standards.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Valid IWCF certification (Level 4) is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams in Devon .
