Senior Early Years Practitioner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join their vibrant childcare team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial in providing exceptional care and educational opportunities for young children, supporting the overall management of the nursery. You will play a key part in planning and delivering stimulating activities that promote learning and development across all areas of the EYFS framework. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences for children aged 0-5, aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Oversee and support the daily routines and activities of a designated age group.
• Conduct observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to development reports.
• Assist the Nursery Manager with staff supervision, mentoring, and providing guidance to junior practitioners.
• Ensure a safe, hygienic, and stimulating environment, adhering to all safeguarding and health & safety policies.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child's development and well-being.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
• Significant experience as an Early Years Practitioner, with some experience in a senior or key worker role.
• In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
• Proven ability to plan and implement effective learning activities.
• Excellent communication, observation, and record-keeping skills.
• A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to safeguarding.
