About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Educational Psychologist to join their child development services team in Plymouth . This critical role involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing psychological support for children and young people facing learning, behavioural, and emotional challenges. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop effective intervention strategies and promote positive development. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to identify learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional/behavioural issues.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention plans and therapeutic strategies for children and adolescents.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers, parents, and school staff on psychological and educational matters.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents and educators on relevant topics.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of psychological services and policies.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Educational Psychology (DEdPsy or equivalent).
- Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent.
- Significant post-qualification experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
- Expertise in psychometric testing, assessment, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
