About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in power systems to join their established team in Bradford . This role is pivotal in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex electrical infrastructure for energy generation and distribution projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems, leading technical aspects of projects, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to significant energy projects and drive technical innovation in the Yorkshire region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control systems for power projects.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies for electrical networks.
- Specify and select electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and generators.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and assets.
- Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and support to project teams and field personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems design and analysis.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
- Strong understanding of grid codes, protection systems, and substation design.
- Experience with project management and a proven ability to lead technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
