Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their dynamic team in London . This pivotal role involves contributing to the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of power distribution networks and associated systems, working within a forward-thinking organization committed to innovation and excellence in electrical engineering. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop specifications for power systems, including substations, distribution networks, and protection schemes.
• Conduct detailed power flow analysis , fault studies, and load forecasting using industry-standard software.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering .
• Proven expertise in designing, analyzing, and managing high-voltage electrical systems.
• Proficiency with ETAP, PSS/E, or similar power system analysis software.
• Strong understanding of grid codes, protection relays, and power system protection principles.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
