Senior Facilities Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Senior Facilities Engineer to join their technical team in Cambridge . This role is integral to the design, operation, and maintenance of production facilities within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable performance of offshore and onshore facilities, focusing on optimizing production, managing integrity, and implementing best practices. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the success of complex projects and operations in the East of England.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities.
• Develop and implement strategies for operational efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.
• Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and troubleshooting for facility-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage vendor and contractor performance for facility maintenance and upgrades.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project execution and asset management.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proven experience in managing the lifecycle of production facilities, including topsides and subsea systems.
• Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) and asset integrity principles.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and procurement processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required for this role in Cambridge .
