About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Engineer to support their growing operations in the subsea and offshore energy sector, based in Edinburgh . This dynamic role involves providing expert technical support and leadership for offshore installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea equipment and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of offshore campaigns, managing field personnel, and maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, a strong understanding of subsea technologies, and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage offshore field operations, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of subsea equipment.
- Provide expert technical assistance and troubleshooting for subsea control systems, hardware, and associated components.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies during offshore activities.
- Develop and execute detailed offshore work plans, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to project schedules.
- Manage and mentor field service technicians and engineers, fostering a high-performance team culture.
- Liaise with clients, project management, and engineering teams to provide regular updates and resolve technical challenges.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in field engineering, with a substantial portion focused on subsea and offshore energy operations.
- Proven experience with subsea production systems, ROVs, and intervention tools.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems common in subsea applications.
- Ability to work offshore for extended periods in challenging environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
