About the Role
Our client, a leader in the Oil & Gas sector, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Geoscientist to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering the ultimate flexibility to work from your chosen location in the UK. You will play a crucial role in the interpretation of subsurface data, contributing to the identification and evaluation of potential hydrocarbon resources. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret complex 3D seismic data, well logs, and other geophysical datasets to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
- Develop and refine geological models and reservoir characterizations to support exploration and field development.
- Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to assess prospectivity and quantify resource potential.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and data scientists, to optimize subsurface understanding.
- Stay current with advancements in geophysical technologies and interpretation techniques.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in geoscience within the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus on seismic interpretation.
- Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation and visualization software (e.g., Petrel, OpendTect).
- Strong understanding of seismic attributes , seismic processing, and geological modeling concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in prospect identification, risk assessment, and subsurface data integration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a remote work environment.
