About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Senior Industrial Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh , focusing on driving significant improvements in operational efficiency and productivity. This hybrid role involves a blend of on-site analysis and remote planning, contributing to the optimization of manufacturing and logistics processes. You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, implementing Lean methodologies, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams both in the office and remotely, contributing to the continuous advancement of our client's operations in the Edinburgh area.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of production lines and operational workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Design, develop, and implement efficient processes and systems, balancing on-site needs with remote collaboration.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase throughput.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to track operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain personnel.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations analysis.
- Proficiency in Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to hybrid work environments.
- Experience working within the Scottish industrial sector, particularly near Edinburgh , is advantageous.
