About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly capable and motivated Senior Leisure Centre Operations Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of their flagship facility in Reading . This role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all aspects of the centre, including fitness suites, swimming pools, sports halls, and community spaces. You will be responsible for leading a diverse team, managing budgets, upholding stringent health and safety standards, and driving customer satisfaction to maintain the centre's reputation as a premier community hub. This is a pivotal management role within the leisure industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day operations of the leisure centre, ensuring high standards of service delivery and facility maintenance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of centre staff, including supervisors, receptionists, and fitness instructors.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, focusing on revenue generation, cost control, and resource optimization.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations, conducting regular audits.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance customer experience, increase participation, and introduce new programs and services.
Requirements
- Significant experience in leisure centre management or a related facility operations role, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong understanding of operational procedures, health and safety legislation, and financial management within the leisure sector.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in staff training and development.
- Relevant qualification in Leisure Management, Business Management, or a related field.
