Senior Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team based in Aberdeen . This pivotal role will involve providing crucial financial insights, driving strategic decision-making, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of management accounting processes. You will play a key part in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, supporting senior leadership with comprehensive financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business operations and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations for business improvement within the Aberdeen area.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Develop and manage budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
• Conduct variance analysis, investigating significant deviations and providing explanations and recommendations.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
• Support business partnering activities, providing financial support and analysis to operational teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function, identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent) with a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in management accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and UK GAAP/IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a Aberdeen -based office environment.
