About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Milton Keynes . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the development of advanced mechanical systems in a hands-on, office-based environment. You will be responsible for the entire design cycle, from initial concept generation through to detailed design, prototyping, and testing. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of technical expertise and a passion for innovation, working closely with a supportive team committed to delivering high-performance engineering solutions and driving product excellence within a collaborative company culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of complex mechanical assemblies and components.
Utilize 3D CAD software and simulation tools to create and optimize designs.
Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure designs are production-ready and meet performance targets.
Perform root cause analysis for design-related issues and implement effective solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Significant experience (8+ years) in mechanical design and product development.
Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for analysis.
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerancing.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, office-based setting.
