About the Role
Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Milton Keynes . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the development of advanced mechanical systems in a hands-on, office-based environment. You will be responsible for the entire design cycle, from initial concept generation through to detailed design, prototyping, and testing. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of complex mechanical assemblies and components.
- Utilize 3D CAD software and simulation tools to create and optimize designs.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure designs are production-ready and meet performance targets.
- Perform root cause analysis for design-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in mechanical design and product development.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for analysis.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerancing.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, office-based setting.
