Senior Metallurgist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Metallurgist to lead their process development and optimisation efforts in Reading . This critical role involves improving the recovery and quality of extracted minerals through advanced metallurgical techniques. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and supervision of various comminution, flotation, and leaching processes. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise metallurgical processes to enhance mineral recovery and product quality.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale testing to evaluate new technologies and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical guidance to plant metallurgists and operators.
• Design and implement sampling plans and quality control procedures.
• Prepare detailed metallurgical reports, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Stay current with advancements in metallurgical science and technology, recommending adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing and metallurgy, preferably in a mining environment.
• Proven expertise in areas such as comminution, flotation, leaching, and solid-liquid separation.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing plant operations and equipment.
• Experience with metallurgical simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
