About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Engineer to join their operations team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for optimizing and maintaining pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with strict regulatory standards. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting production issues, implementing process improvements, and managing validation activities for new and existing equipment. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the reliable production of essential medicines within a well-established manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, including reactors, purifiers, and filling lines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during production, minimizing downtime and impact on output.
- Lead process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, for new equipment and process modifications.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch manufacturing records to ensure compliance with GMP.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Process Development, and other departments to ensure smooth production runs and timely issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing engineering or a similar highly regulated industry.
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations and their application in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience with process validation, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in process optimization techniques and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
