Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer high-voltage and medium-voltage power systems, including substations, switchgear, and transmission infrastructure.
• Conduct advanced power flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and harmonic analysis using specialized software.
• Develop protection schemes and coordinate relay settings to ensure system reliability and safety.
• Oversee the integration of renewable energy sources (e.g., solar, wind) into existing power grids.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of power systems engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Collaborate with grid operators, clients, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution and compliance in Manchester .

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on high-voltage applications.
• Expertise in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
• Strong knowledge of power system protection, control, and stability principles.
• Familiarity with grid codes and interconnection standards relevant to the UK market.
