Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer high-voltage and medium-voltage power systems, including substations, switchgear, and transmission infrastructure.
- Conduct advanced power flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and harmonic analysis using specialized software.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relay settings to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Oversee the integration of renewable energy sources (e.g., solar, wind) into existing power grids.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of power systems engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate with grid operators, clients, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution and compliance in Manchester .
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on high-voltage applications.
- Expertise in power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
- Strong knowledge of power system protection, control, and stability principles.
- Familiarity with grid codes and interconnection standards relevant to the UK market.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
