About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their remote team, ideally based near Manchester . This role focuses on the analysis, design, and optimization of complex power systems for a global client base. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of power infrastructure, contributing to the development of innovative energy solutions. This is a fully remote position that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, providing an exceptional opportunity to contribute to impactful projects without the need for relocation, while maintaining close collaboration with international teams.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed analysis of power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies.
Design and develop specifications for power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies for power system improvement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Provide expert technical support and guidance on power system design and operation.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Electrical Power Engineering or a related discipline.
Over 8 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering.
Proficiency with power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
Deep understanding of grid integration, renewable energy systems, and smart grid technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
