About the Role

Our client, a world-renowned research and development institution, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Chemical Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge projects in Cambridge . This role demands a deep expertise in process design, optimization, and scale-up, particularly in novel chemical applications. You will lead technical aspects of projects, mentoring junior team members and collaborating with scientists to translate laboratory discoveries into viable industrial processes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of innovative chemical processes from concept to pilot scale.
• Optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, yield, safety, and sustainability.
• Conduct rigorous process modeling, simulation, and techno-economic assessments.
• Oversee process validation, scale-up activities, and technology transfer to manufacturing.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in process development, scale-up, and optimization.
• Expertise in process simulation software and advanced analytical techniques.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Experience in a research or R&D-intensive industrial setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, adaptable to a hybrid work model.
