About the Role
Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their vital operations in the petrochemicals sector in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role is integral to optimizing and enhancing the efficiency, safety, and reliability of complex petrochemical processes. You will take a lead role in process design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with operational teams to ensure optimal plant performance. This position requires a deep understanding of petrochemical engineering principles and a commitment to delivering exceptional results in a challenging, on-site environment within Stoke-on-Trent .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process design and optimization efforts for petrochemical units, focusing on yield improvement and cost reduction.
- Conduct detailed technical analysis of plant operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Develop and manage Process Improvement Projects from conception through to successful implementation.
- Provide expert technical support to operations and maintenance teams, troubleshooting complex process issues.
- Ensure all process designs and modifications comply with stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering within the petrochemical industry .
- Strong expertise in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, PROII) and P&ID development.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting and debottlenecking of complex chemical processes.
- Solid understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and risk assessment techniques.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills, with strong analytical abilities.
