About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Liverpool . This vital role focuses on ensuring the integrity and safety of process operations within the energy sector , safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment. You will be responsible for conducting thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs), developing safety procedures, and implementing robust risk management strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to a culture of safety excellence and manage critical safety aspects of complex industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and maintain Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and strategies for safety-critical instrumentation.
- Develop and implement robust operating procedures, management of change (MOC) processes, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant process safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., COMAH).
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety principles to engineering and operational teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, ideally within the energy or petrochemical industry .
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and safety management systems.
- Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and their lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards.
