About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance at their facility in Brighton . This critical role involves developing and implementing robust process safety management systems to mitigate risks associated with chemical operations. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and management teams to foster a strong safety culture and continuously improve safety performance. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on operational integrity and employee well-being in a key industrial hub.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
Conduct and oversee Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
Develop and deliver process safety training to engineers and operational staff.
Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Champion a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and industry best practices.
Proven experience in conducting various types of PHAs.
Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
