Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their established team in Glasgow . This vital role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety in all chemical processes and operations. You will be responsible for conducting rigorous safety assessments, developing and implementing safety procedures, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This is a critical position for an individual passionate about safeguarding people and assets, working within a leading chemical manufacturing environment where safety is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and programs.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to site personnel and management.
• Review engineering designs and modifications to ensure process safety integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and PSM regulations.
• Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and risk assessment tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
