Senior Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic purchasing team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across the organisation. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and category management, who thrives in an independent, results-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for key spend categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess risks, and negotiate favourable contract terms.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, from supplier selection and due diligence to contract finalisation and implementation.
• Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure seamless procurement processes.
• Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost optimisation.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
• Proven ability to lead complex sourcing projects and deliver significant cost savings.
• Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrable history of achieving favourable contract terms.
• Excellent understanding of procurement best practices, supply chain dynamics, and risk management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; experience with e-sourcing tools is a plus.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) are highly desirable.
