About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Production Engineer to join their remote operations team. This role is crucial for maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of oil and gas assets. You will be responsible for monitoring well performance, diagnosing production issues, and implementing solutions to optimize output and asset value. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute technical expertise and drive performance improvements from a fully remote location, collaborating with field operations, reservoir engineers, and management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of production systems, artificial lift, and surface facilities, and is adept at leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making and operational strategies in a flexible work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze daily production data from wells and facilities to identify performance trends and deviations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot production problems, including wellbore issues, artificial lift failures, and surface facility malfunctions.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize well performance and maximize hydrocarbon recovery, including artificial lift system adjustments.
- Prepare production forecasts and economic evaluations for development and optimization projects.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers on material balance calculations and reservoir management strategies.
- Provide technical support to operations teams, ensuring safe and efficient production operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of production systems, artificial lift methods (ESP, rod pumps, gas lift), and surface facilities.
- Proficiency in production data analysis software and techniques.
- Experience with production optimization and well intervention planning.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
