About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Research Chemist specializing in Synthetic Organic Chemistry to join their innovative R&D team in Southampton . Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute multi-step synthetic routes for novel and complex organic molecules.
• Optimize existing synthetic processes to improve yield, purity, and scalability.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC).
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and develop creative solutions to overcome synthetic hurdles.
• Collaborate closely with other chemists and researchers to integrate synthetic efforts with broader research goals.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to the preparation of technical reports and publications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industrial experience in synthetic organic chemistry .
• Demonstrated expertise in modern synthetic methodologies, including asymmetric synthesis and organometallic chemistry.
• Proficiency in spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques for compound characterization.
• Experience in process development and scale-up is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail in a laboratory setting in Southampton .
