About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge Computational Biology team in Leicester . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of computational pipelines for analyzing genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics data.
- Develop and validate predictive models using machine learning and statistical approaches to identify key biological targets and pathways.
- Collaborate with experimental teams to design research studies, interpret results, and propose follow-up experiments.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the overall scientific strategy of the R&D department.
- Present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant therapeutic areas.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology research.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant scientific libraries.
- Demonstrated experience with big data analysis and machine learning techniques applied to biological datasets.
- Familiarity with various biological databases and data types (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, TCGA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in Leicester .
