About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Scientist to lead their Chemical Process Development efforts in Norwich . This role is pivotal in translating laboratory-scale chemical syntheses into robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. You will work on optimizing reaction conditions, ensuring safety, and developing efficient purification strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and scale-up chemical synthesis processes from lab to pilot plant scale.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards associated with chemical processes.
- Develop efficient purification methods and isolation techniques for target compounds.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions to improve yield, purity, and throughput.
- Collaborate with analytical teams to ensure adequate process monitoring and control.
- Document all process development activities thoroughly and prepare technical reports.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical process development, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and process safety.
- Proficiency with common laboratory equipment and analytical techniques used in process chemistry.
- Experience in scale-up considerations and pilot plant operations.
