About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their forward-thinking team, operating with a hybrid model based out of Norwich, Norfolk . Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs for chemical processes, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and layout drawings.
- Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct rigorous hazard analyses (HAZOP) and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
- Specify process equipment, including reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and distillation columns.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure design integrity.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process design and engineering within the chemical industry.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat/mass transfer.
- Experience with HAZOP studies and safety reviews.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
