Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Cloud Infrastructure to join their team in Birmingham . This role is critical for maintaining and enhancing the company's scalable and resilient cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing the infrastructure that supports our client's core applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and robust cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and management processes using scripting languages and CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud environments and improve system reliability.
- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure according to industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and operations.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing infrastructure on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools.
