About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join their established engineering consultancy in Southampton . This role is crucial for delivering complex structural design solutions for a wide array of building and infrastructure projects across Hampshire and beyond. You will be responsible for leading design teams, undertaking complex structural analysis, and ensuring that all designs meet stringent safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge and a proven track record in managing challenging structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design for various projects, including commercial buildings, residential developments, and infrastructure works.
- Perform complex structural calculations and analysis using advanced software.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design intent.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other disciplines to achieve integrated design solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior structural engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng MIStructE) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 years' relevant experience in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, Tekla Structural Designer).
- Thorough knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes for structural design.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership abilities.
