About the Role
Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Substation Engineer to join their expanding team, supporting operations from a remote capacity. This role is critical for the design, development, and implementation of high-voltage substations essential for the energy infrastructure . You will take a lead role in technical solutions, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power delivery systems. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to influence project outcomes, provide expert technical direction, and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders across various locations, contributing to the backbone of the nation's power supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of high-voltage substation layouts , electrical systems, and protection schemes.
- Prepare technical specifications for substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
- Manage the technical aspects of substation projects from conceptual design through to commissioning.
- Conduct engineering studies, such as load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analyses.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and project management of power substations .
- Strong understanding of high-voltage equipment, protection relays, and control systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
- Experience with grid connection studies and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
