Senior Substation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a distinguished Senior Substation Engineer to join their expanding team, supporting operations from a remote capacity. This role is critical for the design, development, and implementation of high-voltage substations essential for the energy infrastructure . You will take a lead role in technical solutions, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power delivery systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of high-voltage substation layouts , electrical systems, and protection schemes.
• Prepare technical specifications for substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
• Manage the technical aspects of substation projects from conceptual design through to commissioning.
• Conduct engineering studies, such as load flow, short circuit, and transient stability analyses.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and project management of power substations .
• Strong understanding of high-voltage equipment, protection relays, and control systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
• Experience with grid connection studies and requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
