About the Role
Our client, a leading innovator in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Subsurface Geoscientist to join their integrated subsurface team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire . This hybrid role provides a dynamic work environment where you can leverage your expertise in subsurface data interpretation and modeling, blending remote flexibility with essential office-based collaboration. You will be instrumental in evaluating exploration opportunities and optimizing field development through advanced geological and geophysical analysis. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and integrate diverse subsurface data, including seismic, well logs, and core data, to build comprehensive geological models.
- Assess prospectivity, quantify resource potential, and identify key risks and uncertainties for exploration and development projects.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and petrophysicists to achieve a unified subsurface view.
- Utilize advanced geophysical techniques and software for seismic data processing, interpretation, and inversion.
- Develop and present clear, concise technical reports and recommendations to management and project teams.
- Mentor junior geoscientists and contribute to the development of best practices in subsurface evaluation.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in subsurface geoscience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in seismic interpretation , structural geology, and stratigraphic analysis.
- Proficiency with industry-standard subsurface modeling and visualization software (e.g., Petrel, GeoViz).
- Experience in play fairway analysis, prospect evaluation, and risk assessment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities for a hybrid setting.
