About the Role
Our client is seeking an expert Senior Sustainability Architect to join their forward-thinking practice in Reading . This role focuses on integrating cutting-edge sustainable design strategies and technologies into architectural projects, driving environmental performance and resource efficiency. You will lead the sustainability agenda for various developments, advising design teams, clients, and stakeholders on best practices, certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED), and innovative solutions. This is a critical position for someone passionate about shaping a greener built environment and making a tangible impact on project performance and ecological responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies for architectural projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and life cycle analyses (LCAs).
- Advise design teams and clients on sustainable materials, energy efficiency, water management, and renewable energy solutions.
- Lead the process for achieving relevant sustainability certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus).
- Collaborate with consultants to optimize building performance and minimize environmental footprint.
- Stay current with sustainability trends, regulations, and innovative technologies in the built environment.
- Prepare sustainability reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Architecture or a related field, with a specialization in sustainability.
- Proven experience in sustainable design and environmental assessment of buildings.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks, building performance analysis tools, and relevant software.
- Experience with BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus, or other green building rating systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively lead and influence design teams and clients on sustainability matters.
