About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Telecoms Field Engineer to join their team, primarily serving the Belfast region. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and various operational locations. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and technical support, acting as the company's technical representative in the field. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider support network, with a hybrid arrangement allowing for some flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and commission telecommunications hardware and software solutions at customer premises.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on network infrastructure and equipment.
- Respond promptly to service calls and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimise customer disruption.
- Conduct site surveys and provide technical recommendations for network upgrades or installations.
- Maintain accurate records of all field service activities, including work performed and parts used.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies during site visits.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Engineer or similar role within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fibre optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanour.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the designated region.
- Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
