About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer to manage and enhance their core network infrastructure in Bristol . This critical role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust telecommunications systems that form the backbone of our services. You will work with complex network technologies, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of high-capacity telecommunications infrastructure, including optical, IP, and wireless networks.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
• Develop and implement strategic infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues, often involving multiple interconnected systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, planning, and product development, to meet infrastructure requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing expertise and fostering best practices in network engineering.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies for potential integration into the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications infrastructure engineering.
• Expert knowledge of optical transport networks (DWDM, OTN), IP routing (BGP, MPLS), and network security.
• Experience with network automation, scripting (e.g., Python), and infrastructure as code.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead technical teams.
• Strong understanding of network resilience and disaster recovery principles.
