Telecoms Field Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on and dedicated Telecoms Field Engineer to join their operational team based in Bristol . This role involves traveling to customer sites and various locations to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and infrastructure. You will be the frontline representative for the company, ensuring high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is resourceful, technically proficient, and comfortable working independently in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, fibre optic cabling, and base stations.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults on customer premises and in network access points.
• Respond to emergency call-outs to restore service disruptions promptly.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, adhering to company policies and health and safety regulations.
• Accurately document work performed, including site reports, fault logs, and inventory updates.

Requirements

• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Field Engineer or similar role in the telecommunications sector.
• Strong technical understanding of copper and fibre optic cabling, wireless technologies, and basic network protocols.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment used in the telecom industry.
• A valid UK driving license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
