About the Role

A leading automotive inspection and testing centre in Reading is seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Inspector . This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of vehicle safety standards, emissions regulations, and mechanical integrity. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, identifying defects, and ensuring vehicles comply with all legal and safety requirements. Your expertise will contribute to road safety in Berkshire and maintain the centre's reputation for accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles for roadworthiness, safety compliance, and emissions standards.
• Identify and document any defects or non-compliance issues using the approved inspection procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests and checks on critical vehicle components, including brakes, suspension, steering, and lighting.
• Advise customers on necessary repairs and provide clear, accurate reports of inspection findings.
• Ensure all inspections are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with DVSA guidelines.
• Mentor and guide junior inspectors, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in vehicle inspection or a related automotive engineering field.
• Significant experience as a Vehicle Inspector or MOT Tester.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current vehicle safety standards, MOT testing procedures, and emissions regulations.
• Proficiency in using inspection equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed judgments.
• A valid UK driving license and a high level of integrity.
