Senior Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their growing renewable energy team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role involves the inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. You will be a key member of the site operations team, contributing to the efficient generation of clean energy. This position demands a strong technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Diagnose and repair faults in wind turbines, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Conduct thorough inspections of turbine structures, blades, and nacelles.
• Safely operate lifting equipment and access systems as required.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety procedures and regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a closely related field (e.g., heavy industrial maintenance).
• Strong knowledge of wind turbine technology, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical drives.
• Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and diagnostics.
• Ability to work at heights and in challenging weather conditions.
• Possession of a valid driving license and ability to travel to various sites around Norwich .
