About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and technically adept Service Engineer to join their team in Sheffield , specializing in Building Systems Automation. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of integrated systems that control lighting, HVAC, security, and other building functions. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of smart building technologies for our clients. Combining field work with potential remote diagnostics, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service and technical support, contributing to smarter, more efficient, and sustainable building environments across South Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation components.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic checks on automated building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems related to building automation.
- Ensure systems are optimized for energy efficiency and operational performance.
- Maintain detailed records of service visits, repairs, and system configurations.
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical advice and support.
Requirements
- Experience in the installation and maintenance of building systems automation or related fields (e.g., HVAC controls, electrical systems).
- Strong understanding of control systems, networking, and common communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A relevant technical qualification and a valid driver's license are required for site visits in the Sheffield area.
