About the Role
Our client, a leading catering specialist in Leeds , is seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing their busy banqueting and events kitchen. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu design, development, and costing for various event types.
- Oversee and execute food preparation and cooking during service, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, food safety, and health & safety within the kitchen.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and waste reduction to control food costs effectively.
- Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen, preferably with catering or banqueting experience.
- Strong practical cooking skills and a good understanding of culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
