Sous Chef - Catering

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join their bustling catering operations based in Coventry . You will work closely with the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, from menu development and food preparation to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. This role requires a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences for a diverse clientele. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen and contributing to the overall success of the catering services provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Manage inventory, conduct stock takes, and ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimize waste.
• Maintain rigorous hygiene and food safety standards throughout the kitchen, adhering to all relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with the catering team to ensure seamless service delivery for events and daily operations.
• Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence, taking responsibility for kitchen operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role within a catering or hospitality setting.
• Strong culinary skills and a comprehensive understanding of various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and COSHH regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
