About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Sports Centre Administrator to provide essential support for the smooth operation of their busy sports facility in Reading . You will be the first point of contact for many visitors, handling inquiries, managing bookings, processing memberships, and overseeing general administrative tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient front-of-house operations and supporting the centre's management team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and IT skills, a keen eye for detail, and a friendly, professional demeanour, contributing significantly to the positive experience of all centre users, whether they are athletes, members, or visitors, ensuring operations run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming inquiries via phone, email, and in person, providing information and directing queries appropriately.
- Handle bookings for sports facilities, courts, and pitches accurately and efficiently.
- Process new memberships, renewals, and associated payments using the centre's management system.
- Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
- Provide administrative support to the centre management and team, including preparing reports and correspondence.
- Assist with the organisation of events and promotional activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably within a sports or leisure environment.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with booking/membership software.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and friendly telephone manner.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage time effectively.
