About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Sports Development Officer to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will play a key role in increasing participation in sports and physical activity across the local community, developing and implementing innovative programs for various age groups and abilities. This position requires a proactive individual with a passion for sports, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to engage diverse community members, fostering a lifelong love for physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and managing community sports programs and events to encourage participation.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with local schools, sports clubs, and community organisations.
• Identifying funding opportunities and assisting with grant applications to support sports initiatives.
• Promoting sports and physical activity through various communication channels, including social media and local press.
• Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to assist with program delivery.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field.
