About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Sports Development Officer to drive participation and enhance sports opportunities within the Stoke-on-Trent community. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating sports programmes designed to engage diverse age groups and abilities. This role involves collaborating with local schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to foster a thriving sports culture. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase sports participation across the community.
- Organise, deliver, and promote a variety of sports activities and events for different demographics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, clubs, and local authorities.
- Seek funding opportunities and manage budgets for sports development projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of sports programmes, reporting on outcomes and achievements.
- Provide support and guidance to local sports clubs and volunteers.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development , coaching, or community sports management.
- Strong understanding of the sports landscape and participation barriers.
- Excellent project management, communication, and networking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
- A relevant qualification in sports science, sports management, or a related field is desirable.
